Illegal structures on Nui and Freedom beaches in Phuket are to be demolished after officers seized encroached land in parts of the Narkerd Reserve Forest.

Nui Beach (not to be confused with Ya Nui Beach) is north of Nai Harn Beach. Freedom Beach is north of the beach in front of Le Meridien Hotel (maps below).

The investigation follows officers receiving many complaints that tourists are having to pay for entrance fees at Nui and Freedom Beaches.

I think they just like pointing, seems to be a national pastime!

The guy is saying

This is going to be where my new house will be built

With all my spare cash I need to do something

As he’s pointing downward I think he’s plotting the trajectory of the average IQ.

Heard it all before in regard to these two beaches.

People have been murdered and shot at by the characters involved with these places.

No, you're just sprouting some lame jokes.

You would have to say something vaguely original and witty to make any sort of impact.????

A visiting friend and I once 'discovered' a beach (way) off the main track that charged 100 bht (from memory) heading towards the viewpoint.

We were both very happy to pay this charge (that included a sunbed/umbrella/free drink) as they had kept the area pristine and, whilst snorkelling, we saw all the normal reef fish plus baby black tip sharks.  Something not seen generally when snorkelling in Phuket.....

Anyone seen if anything has happened on this?

If that "luxury mansion" in the hills can get away with appeals, I imagine this will go the same way.
