For those of you caught up in the "nasty" comment I would suggest that we see, and hear, what we want to see and hear.

He did not call her a nasty person and, in fact, went on to be quite supportive of her, but maybe that part of the interview was cropped in the version you saw.

Khan has been elected only in 2016. So it is quite likely that the issues you raise can be attributed to a guy named Boris.

Khan is the elected mayor of London. A bureaucratic appointment to manage London. Not to be confused with the historic Mayor of London role. It is not his job to decide who the government and Queen can and cannot invite. He is a jumped up pipsqueak who like many of his political party pushes political correctness, shies away from inconvenient truths and realities, and tries to deny any political opinion but the doctrines he embraces. I may agree with SK but after his comments comparing Trump to a fascist dictator amongst other things, he would have to have expected push back. 

While I may think DT is unworthy of a State visit I do think he is more worthy than Chinese President Xi Jinping who got the full treatment including the carriage ride. Did Sadiq Kahn make the same type of comments about Xi Jinping? After all, he has a million plus Muslims in re-education camps and China's human rights record is right at the very bottom on the world list. Never mind China's pollution/ co2 emissions production and trade practices.

But still not very diplomatic, something that Trump is being accused of, and rightfully so. However, it’s hypocritical to apply that standard in only one way. It also matters not that Kahn was addressing his own government. Imagine if Trump “criticized” Congress for inviting a dignitary (i.e.a legislator, mayor of a major city, head of state) to visit that institution.
