Why not take her name, if you're that sensitive?

My wife changed her name but kept the title 'Miss' on her ID card. I guess she was young enough to be my daughter.

my wife changed her name and has had to change a few other documents/licences as well but has had no problems at all. I think it is just the way some thai people think that is the problem, they dont like the idea of using a foreign name instead of their family name. Although she still uses her original signature, said it makes it easier for her work

Mine kept her Thai name, apparently makes things easier.  I wasn't bothered really, so that was simple.

Thais can change their name in 10 min, as many times as they wish,  But they always keep the same I D number, i was out with a mate doing some shopping at a large hardware shop. his wife rang him and casually told him she had changed her name " What? Why ? "   "did not like my name" his reply was so now i have a new wife :cheesy:

My wife has never changed her name but keeps "Miss" on her ID card. We always thought it would avoid problems if bureaucrats decided to crack down on property rights. Never caused a problem.
