FA Cup venues decided

Old Trafford and Villa Park will stage this season's FA Cup semi-finals, following confirmation from The Football Association.

After Monday's two quarter-final replays, Manchester United set up a meeting with Watford, while Chelsea will face Blackburn Rovers.

United's last four encounter with Watford will be held at Villa Park on Saturday 14th April, with kick-off at 5.30pm.

The second semi-final between Chelsea and Blackburn will take place at Old Trafford the following day, kick-off at 4pm and will be live on Sky Sports.

A place in the final - to be staged at the new Wembley Stadium - is up for grabs, with Watford and Blackburn hoping to pull off cup upsets.

Meanwhile, a date for a potential Premiership title showdown between United and Chelsea will now have to be found in the calendar.

The title rivals were due to meet at Stamford Bridge on Sunday 15th April, but the two clubs' FA Cup commitments have forced the fixture to be postponed.

With both sides also still involved in the UEFA Champions League, the final week of the season is currently the likely window for the match to be staged.

Hard luck Chon.

And i hope that Tottenham lunatic fan who tried to punch Lampard, gets the keys thrown away :D

and what about the chelsea players kicking him on the ground, and drogba stamping on him.

one of our players got a 8 month ban for kicking a fan food for thought :o

Eric Cantana did what .....flying kick....... good example of being a proifessional football player........ The difference was Eric chose to attack the fan. The spurs fan choseto try and assualt Lamps who actually did not throw a punch back.............If the stewards had done there jobs maybe this ugly situation may not have happened.

He got what he deserved, the fan is due a spot inside, the FA need to make an example of him, no fan has the right to try to assult a player on the pitch!

Absolutely Seapok.

Nev you can't compare that to what Eric did.

i agree that you cannot compare the two incidents, but why did the chelsea players go over the top and kick him when he was on the ground and one stamp on him, leave it too the official's, the FA need to make an example of those chelsea player's :D

Nev, the Chelsea boys weren't actually kicking him or stamping just merely trying to restrain the drunken yob from hurting himself or others! :D

FA confirm no player action

No players involved in restraining a supporter will face any 'formal disciplinary action' from the Football Association.

Chelsea's FA Cup quarter-final replay win over Tottenham at White Hart Lane was marred by an incident following the final whistle.

A fan had to be restrained by players and coaching staff after invading the pitch at full-time and aiming a punch at Blues midfielder Frank Lampard

The FA looked at video footage of the post-match fracas, but will not take action against any players involved.

"We have looked at all the available video footage and there will be no formal disciplinary action against any players," an FA spokesman said.

Chelsea won the game 2-1 with goals from Andrei Shevchenko and Shaun Wright-Phillips to set up a semi-final against Blackburn at Old Trafford next month.

Cup Final ticket allocations

The FA Cup sponsored by E.ON

The Final

Chelsea v Manchester United

3pm, Saturday 19 May 2007

Wembley Stadium

At a meeting held today with FA Cup finalists Chelsea and Manchester United, it was agreed that The FA will provide each club with an allocation of approximately 25,000 tickets for the game at Wembley on 19 May.

These allocations represent an increase of 1,500 per club on the 2006 Final. Aside from seats for members of Club Wembley, 70% of the remaining tickets will be provided to the two clubs to distribute.

The remaining 30% of tickets have been allocated to people involved in the grassroots of football and the football family. These 23,000 tickets will go to the 92 Premier League and Football League clubs, the 134 Full Member clubs, other clubs who reached the Third Round of this season's competition, charities, the Football Foundation, Premier League, Football League, Football Conference, PFA, International Associations, FIFA, UEFA and County Football Associations.

An FA spokesman said: "The FA Cup Final is a unique sporting event. This year the demand for tickets will be greater than ever due to it being the first Cup Final back at Wembley.

"It is undoubtedly the biggest domestic cup final in the world and as such it belongs to the whole country as well as the two competing teams and their supporters.

"It is also an occasion to reward the thousands of individuals who give up their time and energy to football, without whom the grassroots game would not function."

What an absolute disgrace! 25,000 tickets each to the two clubs involved is a joke! its the first FA Cup final in the new Wembley, in a 90,000 capacity stadium and thats all the tickets we get! Its typical of the greedy fat cats at the FA, who will be rubbing their hands together with all the corporate big wigs who aren't even interested in the beautiful game going to network rather than watch and enjoy the game as a loyal fan!
