Renewing drivers license on Koh Samui

Hello friends,

 

i have both a thai car license and motorcycle license which expire at the end of this month. I am being told to renew before expiry but then others say you can’t renew until the old license is expired. Anyone know the facts?

Can anyone clarify how the process works and what documents I need, thanks

Depends on if you are renewing a temporary 2 years or permanent 5 years license. 

When renewing a temporary you have to have the license for two years, so after expiration. 

For permanent you can renew before expiration.
