CNS calls meeting on poverty eradication and rural development

The Council for National Security (CNS) ha called a meeting of the administrative board of the Poverty Combating and Rural Development Center. The meeting's objective is to find ways to persuade people to lead their life in line with the Sufficiency Economy philosophy initiated by His Majesty the King.

Army’s Chief of Staff and Deputy Director of the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC), Gen.Montri Sanghasup (มนตรี สังขทรัพย์) reveals that the meeting agreed on many operating guidelines. The guidelines address strategic policies and measures regulating the government’s new projects on the eradication of poverty and the development rural areas. It also made suggestions on the implementation of the projects and proper amount of budget for each of the projects.

In addition, the meeting stressed that the projects should focus on people’s participation and cooperation with the authority.

As for the government’s existing projects, the meeting agreed to move on with those which have a potential to be successful. The projects on poverty combating and rural development are the government’s effort to honor His Majesty the King’s 80th birthday anniversary this year.
