15 Nescafe Hubs to roll out over next 12 months

Nestle Indochina is investing more than Bt50 million to open 15 Nescafe Hubs in Thailand over the next 12 months, following the success of its first such hub at BTS Chit Lom last July, the company’s chairman and chief executive officer Victor Seah said on Monday.

A second Nescafe Hub was opened at BTS Ekkamai in March this year, followed by one at BTS National Stadium in April and third at BTS Ari at the end of June. The remaining Nescafe Hubs will follow different formats, including choosing locations other than the BTS.

With its current expansion plans, Nescafe Hub expects to grow cup sales by over 600 per cent to reach a volume of 400,000 cups over the next year and achieving sales of Bt20 million, he said.

More than 85 per cent of Nescafe Hub customers are regulars, ordering their coffee both on the go and via delivery such as the Line Man delivery service, Seah said. Nescafe Hub uses a database for geo-targetting, sending messages about drinks and services to consumers who are within a two-kilometre radius of a Nescafe hub.

Ah yes, Nescafe - the company with excellent customer interaction.
They were in the news last year when they opened a branch somewhere in Bangkok, I emailed them.
I asked if they were going to use plastic cups that were recyclable, or better still would they allow customers to bring their own cups to be filled instead.
Nescafe's response? No idea, I'm still waiting for it.

What are you expecting?
This is Thailand.
Assuming that your email was in English no one understood it and don't won't to bother further with it.
If you really want to know an answer you'll have to walk in to their thai headquarters and waiting there, insisting for an answer.
Then probably someone higher from the management team, who can speak English, might show up.

Ahh yes, Nescafe.

The company with commercials featuring people slowly nodding and smiling with satisfaction after sipping their coffee.

I always thought the slow nodding was as they fell asleep after drinking the coffee?

Christonabike .. They are like a fat kid who knows only one joke when it comes to the word Hub ..

For the umpteenth time a Hub is a big lump of metal that spins around with stuff attached to it .. It is not a poxy coffee kiosk or anything else you want to hang it on in an attempt to sound hip , trendy and with it ..

Jeez' I despair sometimes ..

Christian on a  bike,  Nescafe outlets . Thailand is becoming civilised at last .

       Thank God ..

Do Nescafe provide USB ports for charging Kindles and mobile phones?

Why do I bet that if they do, if you emailed them that question you'd get reply back PDQ?

Just what Thailand needs, more coffee shops, within 15 mins

walk of my house there must be at least 20,that's even more

than 7-11's .

I am not a coffee drinker really, but the worse for me is McD,

and Nescafe is a close second, you wonder if they ever taste

their own shit they are pushing.

The best coffee i ever tasted was at Bogata airport, they were

giving it away for free, promotion by Colombian coffee growers,

I had several cups, without milk or sugar, which normally would

be a no no for me.

50 million Baht for 15 coffee boxes? a tad expensive? even with "tea money" "gifts" and "skimming"taken into consideration? maybe a few Benz's wanted?

Both 7/11 stores near me have their own "coffee shop" presumably all 7's are getting them  across LOS.

Competition is fierce in Thailand.

Well worgeordie, if your common habit is dumping loads of milk and sugar into the coffee cup then really, you are not much of a coffee gourmet. So hush up.

You are guilty of mentioning the words gourmet and Nescafe in the same sentence!

no reply to email is very normal for many thai companies even if the message sent is written in thai.  even major hospitals that boast international standard fail to even issue a simple acknowledgement email for inquiry and or documents mailed.

Samitivej Sriracha and BDMS both responded to my emails within a couple of hours and conducted complicated negotiations that required many emails and an in depth knowledge of English and medicine.

Thailand can have the Starbucks, Nescafe Hubs, Coffee Clubs, True Coffee etc. I will stick to the 30-40b coffee from the street stalls. The only brand I will occasionally entertain is Amazon.

Nescafe source much of their beans from Vietnam who produce good quality Robusta. What Nescafe do with those beans to reduce them to the evil tasting powder they market as 'Instant' is beyond me.

A small hotel at which I stay overnight frequently used to brew their own coffe for breakfast and it was passable. On my last stay the restaurant boss proudly displayed a new Nescafe badged electric machine with push button selectors for the usual coffee varieties. I groaned inwardly and pumped up a cappucini. Back at my table it turned out to be very tasty so it just shows that Nescafe can get it right. Credit where it is due.

That said, their new 'hubs' will have to prove that the product satisfies most people both in taste and price or customers will vote with their feet.
