cheers , £250 per month ?

January is high season, so you may have trouble getting a decent room in a small basic decent guesthouse with a/c up on Nanai road for that amount.

At least 350 pounds may be a more feasible for a basic room budget.

You can try to book something online closer to your arrival date, and you may get a good deal in your price range.

However, allot of the small guesthouses may not be seen on the likes of tripadvisor and agoda and hotels.com etc. So, you could also walk around and ask the places near banzaan market street first, and make your way further up to nanai if need be.

Would be good to have a place reserved for at least a couple of days upon arrival to reduce the stress on arrival.

Why not check out an accommodation guide like the link below, to get an idea of what's there.

This particular guide is mainly for bargains booked close to actual travel (hence the name) but can give you an idea of what's available.

back off 3rd road and the 4th road ( Na Nai) and the small sois off it you can find accommodations for around 8,000-9,000 baht/month even in the high season

Book your first 2-3 nights so you have  a place to go to, rent a bike an than hit every place that you like..Note if ur back on Na Nai road your going to need keep that bike (around 4-5,000 baht/month high season rates)
