I thought the forum was for members to communicate with one another on issues or interests ? More and more it appears to be used as free advertising for hotels, insurance companies and marketers.  What gives?

Exactly, it becomes heavy.
Now, it would be necessary to know if these advertisers are authorized by Thaivisa, to which they pay to the line, to the photo, to the page, their advertisement or they are profiteers who sneak for free in the messages.
I am part of a charity that has its own site in Hua Hin, and every advertisement or information is not free.

TVF is a commercial site with free chat stuff for you, me and the rest.....????

Has your ability to "communicate with one another" been restricted or interrupted in any way?   You don't have to read the ads or the advertorials, you know?

"What gives?"

How about the necessity to make money, Thaivisa is a commercial enterprise.

That's an outrage!  Why not calm down with a relaxing stay at my hotel and spa?  Ballpointotel.  Hotel, spa, clinic, insurance brokers, shopping centre and used tyre incineration plant.
