The best way to improve the country lies with the army itself. It needs to get out. It needs to get out now. The army and Prayuth have done nothing for this nation. They are vampires. So, if we wants the country to improve, it is up to them, not everybody else.

To Prayuth and the army- you are not doing anything for the people. You are despised, few approve of the job you are doing, and you can benefit your nation by disappearing. The people do not want, or need you. Sooner or later it will happen. It could take some time. But, sooner or later the youth of this nation will rise up against the army, and either the army will leave, or there will be civil war.

Well, his photograph is impressive, what with all those badges, ribbons, and awards he is wearing. He must be quite the combat veteran.

When a uniform talks, the result is laughable. The history of the Thai military and its political involvement is sad and shameful.

Army General?

I thought the junta thing was over? How long must the democracy endure?

Clear case of virtue signaling (edit).

We called those decorations, "Good housekeeping awards". They were available for purchase at any post exchange.

Himmler took his own life shortly after WW2 ended. Leave it at that and spare the survivors of the hollacust your lame humour.

If you read the Thai history, than you can see that the Thai military allways had the main power in the country, and so it will be forever in one or another form !!!!

will not affect the the ongoing operations to solve problems in the three southern border provinces.

So he is saying that nothing will change - failure will continue?

Yes and also that the cheap plastic copy of a government will have no say in how the problem is solved, not solved or the continuance of failure as you so subtly put it.

Thought this guy had said he was going to stay out of politics and stop making ill-advised statements he is unqualified to make. It will be a good day when this fascist's two years in charge of the army comes to an end ... gaffe prone to say the least, and the last thing the new "government" (if you can call it that without laughing) needs is him piping up at random times shouting off about silly old dogmatic rubbish that no-one under 50 cares about.

To expand on your point, it is why throughout the history of all nations future monarchs served in the military. It made you one of them and ensured loyalty. The Thai military can be disloyal to a politician, but will never be disloyal to the monarchy.

Shouldn't Gen Apirat shut up his mouth (to remain polite)?

Is there really not even ONE single person, there up, up, where the air gets thin, to reprimand this sabre-dragger, who seems not to have the faintest idea of what Royal Thai Army means? The Army of the Thai citizens lead by H.M. the King, as described in all the Constitutions, ...even this one?

In 'democracies', the military is called: 'the great mute' (I translate), meaning: THEY SHUT THEIR TRAP AND STAY IN THEIR BARRACKS, doing ONLY what the CIVILIAN AUTHORITIES ORDER(!!!) them to do, PERIOD!

So, Thailand, whichever monument you might have about a 'Revolution', 'Constitution', 'Democracy' and tutti quanti, it's all FAKE, ...as long as, for a start, your Army does NOT, without any exception, RESPECT ALL YOUR INSTITUTIONS!

He said the army had returned to normal and is obliged to follow government policy.:cheesy:

That is until he wants his turn at the trough.

Yep - exactly that: "I will not lead a coupe" - 555555 !
