CRB Check for Non O-A Visa

Featured Replies

As I can no longer get a Multi Entry Non O Visa it would be my intention to apply for a Non O-A from London.

on looking at the various websites there are 3 different types of CRB checks, basic, standard and enhanced, what one is required by the Thai Embassy ?

What does notarise mean and who do I get to do it in the U.K. ?

A letter of verification issued from the country of his or her nationality or residence stating that the applicant has no criminal record (verification shall be valid for not more than three months and should be notarised by notary organs or the applicant’s diplomatic or consular mission).

The basic ACRO  police clearance will be accepted. https://www.acro.police.uk/Police_Certificates_Online.aspx

From embassy website.

"Please submit the originals of bank statement, criminal record check, and medical record, as well as one photocopy of each document. In case that an applicant could not submit the original documents, the Embassy will accept the photocopies which have been certified by a Notary Public officer or Solicitors."

No need to notarise in the UK since last year if submitting original documents.

You can apply for the ACRO report online and get it sent to your UK address, I did mine from here. Took about three to four weeks to arrive this time, previously it was around ten days. Also possible to get the medical certificate from a Thai hospital or clinic if you're in Thailand, or use your GP in the UK.

Apologies Joe I would be scanning and sending the original documents plus a copy, how would they know the difference between the scanned original documents and the scanned copies ?

When doing the online application it would not matter since what they see are copies.

When you go to the embassy for your appointment (or send them by post) you would need the originals then.
