Buy new phone now, or wait for 5g phones?

Featured Replies

How long until we see 5G phones in the mid range prices come out. I'm thinking of buying the Huawei Y9 phone this week, I was waiting for prices to drop significantly (due to the google situation/ban) but it just hasn't happened. Friends tell me 5g is just around the corner and I'm going to have to buy one then...so just wait. What do you think?

5G, the panacea solving all problems internet and mobile

"have to"? Nonsense.

3G/4G/LTE will do for a decade and more.

5G is not meant to replace existing technologies for which multi billions have been invested. And it will probably never reach the coverage for Thailand that the existing networks have. Crazy amount of hardware/investment needed.

Buy a phone that you like, right now.

Prices will decay with or without 5G.

Smartphones are rarely a good investment.

Phones already have 5G.P30 Pro for less than 20K.Best phone I ever had. That is mid range price compared to thailand

LOL....mid range to me is 5k or 6k

Thailand won't have 5G coverage for years. By then you will be upgrading to another phone. Personally i would avoid Huawei for the moment.

Just bought the Huawei Y9 2019 for me and my gf @ just over 5k each.

Great phones, we're both happy with them.
