Read they plan to increase  speed  limits to 120kph on larger  roads ie 4  lanes ( 2+2), good  move, will wait for the more  will die  comments.

Personally  I think its a good  idea if enforced at 120 as 80-90 is way way too  slow.

Who does less than 120 on a 4 lane road now? OK me, but that is vehicle limited not legal limited.

problem is  the  ever  increasing  speed  cameras and  at  90 everyone  will  be  getting  a  ticket..........i  know  many  dont  pay  but  enforcement  may  well  come.

I would have thought that the best idea would be to reduce the speed limit as most drivers are still gonna travel at 110 ( on a 90 ) and 150 ( on a 120 ).

In this way they will create more revenue from fines and lets face it , the driving population of Thailand are unlikely to change their driving habits !!

According to my girlfriend they don't take photo of anyone doing 120 or less today.
Enforcement? That means work.

Those Tumbling Over Fortuna things and Empty Pic Up trucks scare me, letting them go the same speed as Camrey and similar on Motorways isnt fair .Restricton to 100 For unstable vehicles is

Sorry but what a load of tosh. Have you driven either??? Have had both and I can tell you they are extremely stable at speed. Will agree that a pick up does become a bit unstable at speeds of around 150+kph. But you shouldn't be doing those speeds anyway. The new Tuna is one of the best cars stability wise I have ever driven.

Do more than 120km/h and you will soon find where the cameras actually are. Got my photo takes the other day; totally forgot about the location of the camera and normally don't do more than 80 or 90 in that area. Fine hasn't come in the mail yet. Actually, that road is posted as 60 km/h which is way too slow for this particular road. They should be booking everyone, but it seems over 120 is the limit (looked at my speedo and it was 123 at that instant after I saw the camera flash).

Stoppoing distance is the problem, much more than stability. (3-5m more from 100 to 0, compared to a sedan).

Stability must increase on Thai SUVs.Known in Australia as Seriously Unstable Vehicles. We wouldn’t consider anything else in the Outback , or for Fun, but as a stable Hi Way Vehicles certainly not.!.

The new Tuna with disc all round and it's 20" rims, will stop on a button. You can also see where your going so you can be prepared to slow down well before the other small cars on the road.

For Alan G I think you will find that in OZ you can do more than 20?mph without getting fined. And that's even in the outback. So stability/stopping doesn't come into it.

My Taxi driver told me that 20kph over the limit you will get away with it anything more and you'll be buggered. I found this out first hand when I went 115kph in a 90 km road and got a 500bt fine. Same road now I do 110kph and never have a problem.

It's not the fine just the aggro having to line up in the post office to pay for it.

Just a heads up. They will also take snaps from the rear. I have had two fines showing the rear of my Lump.
