Home Pro announced a net profit of Bt2.946 billion in the first half of this year, up Bt385.43 million or 15.05 per cent from the same period last year.

The company reported Bt34.118 billion in total revenue in the first six months, rising Bt1.753 billion or 5.42 per cent year on year. The growth, despite a slowdown of the overall economy in Thailand, was driven by higher sales of cooling products caused by hotter climate, such as air-conditioners and electric fans, as well as the company's continuous sales promotion activities.

The company will focus on developing working efficiency and enhancing its gross profit margin through the selection and quality development of its products to meet the needs and requirements of individual shoppers.

Kunawut Dhampromkul, managing director of Home Product Center Plc, operator of Home Pro stores, said of the total revenue in the first half , about Bt31.826 billion came from sales, up Bt1.506 billion or 4.97 per cent year on year, driven by the expansion of Home Pro and Mega Home stores, as well as growth in sales at new Home Pro outlets.

In the period, the company earned Bt1.285 billion from retail space rental and service fees, up Bt135.15 million or 11.75 per cent year on year, due to an increase in rental income especially at its Market Village complex and Home Pro stores, and higher revenue from Home Service app.

He said that the company also earned Bt1.006 billion in other incomes, up Bt111.31 million or 12.43 per cent over the same period last year, from growth in sales through co-promotional campaigns with its partners, as well as interest and other miscellaneous activities.

Imported products are now much cheaper which means more profits if you don't need to compete - and they definitely don't compete on price here.

It would probably be higher if they ditched the 5 or 6 employees on every isle doing nothing.

And, had one person in each store who spoke English.

Can't see how or why, i'm yet to see a proper hardware store in this country that has everything in it, Homepro and others are only a shadow of similar hardware stores as we know them in the west...

Sorry, that requires an education!

Isn't it part of the induction course - 'No hab mister.'

From what I read on here, that appears to be the most used phrase in all of these large stores, irrespective of if they might have it or why they don't.

Hate going in there, it's the worst store be being followed around and sawadee khraped at every few steps and usually more staff than customers.

No room to browse in my local branch full of staff followers hunting you down ????

I love Home Pro.  In the USA we have Home Depot what a dump compared to Home Pro. Gonna be in Thailand next month to buy windows a doors for our house. Can’t wait!  I love the service at Home Pro. One or two frangi  complained about too many people working there, but I’ve walking around Home Depot for 30 minutes trying to find help.  Some farangi are always complaining, makes me ill to see these complainers in Thailand.

That's because you were in the wrong aisle.  Go near the showers, always around twenty of them trying to sell shower units, well once they get off their smartphones. ????

Homeworks was always worse however since they changed their name to Baan and Beyond their service has really crashed.  I wonder if this is why HomePro are seeing an increase in traffic and profit.

Neither are certainly no Bunnings which is a proper hardware store.

Thai or English,  most of the employees don't have a clue about hardware or whatever else they're trying to sell. They appear like a bunch of question marks.

I go to HomePro almost every week to get this and that and still have to order the rest from lazada. No screams of joy from me. Their webshop works ok though, which is nice. For construction materials Watsadu/Boonthavorn is better. Hardware House in Na Jomthien used to be real good, but then I guess the farang manager bailed and it's been 'maimee' for a few years now.

Friends of my wife do odd jobs like sales clerks. At some point all of them have worked for HomePro/Homework. While nice ladies, they know absolutely sod all about hardware. Getting a job there is as easy as walking in.

Three other companies just like Home Pro in Thailand why would they not need to complete.

Look at the prices, they're almost identical everywhere. This is the opposite of competition, it's price fixing.
