Thailand’s ombudsman has accepted for consideration a petition from Mr. Srisuwan Janya, secretary-general of the Thai Constitution Protection Association, regarding Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha’s alleged incomplete recital of an oath in the swearing-in ceremony before His Majesty the King last month.

The political activist wants the ombudsman to determine whether the Prime Minister violated Section 161 of the Constitution by not reciting the oath in full and then pass the matter to either the Constitutional or Administrative court if the ombudsman rules that the Prime Minister did violate the charter, said Mr. Raksagecha Chaechai, secretary-general of the Ombudsman’s Office, on Tuesday.

He added that he had instructed legal affairs officials of the Ombudsman’s Office to look into the facts of the matter and related legal aspects and to submit their findings to the ombudsman for consideration.

The PM ,has now belatedly admitted ,that he did not read

the oath in full,so why have an investigation,to investigate him

or try to get him off the hook?.

regards Worgeordie

Maybe Prayut should enlist the same defense team that got Prawit off the hook for all the 'borrowed' watches.

To investigate the circumstances, reasons and intentions of the failure to recite the oath fully and also what bearing it may have on the administering of governance and most importantly so that as many people as possible can make as much money out of the situation as possible.Lawyer's have families with higher than average financial demands!

You mean blame it all on a dead friend?Well it worked for Prawit so why not.

A charge for treason and subversion would be great for starters..

Well, we don't expect anything since this is DOA. ????

  • The failure to perform the very first step of the job correct.y is a bad omen.
  • The fact that the first step is to pledge to uphold and protect the constitution is disturbing.
  • The fact that the constitution you failed to pledge to uphold is one you made up yourself and all but forced is scary.

Add to that that we were told 16 million people voted for this constitution.
