New Vocabulary?

Featured Replies

Yeh i heard that word alot . MY bad usually in the show where you have alot alot of guy that go hey nigger and what you call the black afircian amercian i still confuse why there call each other nigger and is wrong to call them what there call each other ??

Easy, whites called blacks niggers because they didn't like them, yes. So, to be a nigger is to be black, not a black kissing up to whites. To be a nigger as called by other blacks was to mean you are defiance of the man and the system which kept you down. So, a white person using means they are looking down on blacks and black person using it means that they hold some in high regards. Not all black folk in America agree with the usage of that word even among the black community, it's mostly a hip-hop thing anyway.

another funny words is

" QUIZ "

i heard is a BAR bet back in the 1600 century

some french guy say he can invent a new words in a week .

so what he did was paste the words all over the town .. after writing it on paper or something or paint it on the wall .

the whole town got confuse and keep asking everyone what words is it and what it mean..

and that how the string words is invented ..

of cos there is my special

whahahahhahahahahahahh ( copy right )

To hear some folks talk, the same situation exists regarding the use of the word "farang" by farangs and Thais.

(except I don't think it's a hip-hop thing) :o

Welcome to Bedlam wpcoe. We didn't hear you come in, did you sneak in the back way? It's supposed to be guarded at night... Hmmm, Nurse Ratched won't be pleased :o

Yes, wpcoe, please go to admissions (been done before yet) and identify your instabilities.

I haven't heard "my bad" but there is a term I'm hearing a lot from a DJ in Aloha down here in KL. He's an irritating little................nob who is Malaysian with a phoney American accent so it may be bovine scat. He liberally populates his inter disc patter with "Get it down" and he introduces the band with "Get it down for Easy Band".

Then he's rattling away and comes out with "Get it back down" and I'm thinking just a 'kin' minute you never told me to pull it up so how can I "get it back down"? :D

I haven't a clue what "get it down" is supposed to mean. Maybe it's a singular form of "get them down" which I am familiar with. :D:o

Geez, Phil, that's a 70s term. Get it down means something like party, enjoy or give it up -- applaud. Guy sounds like a total loser. Change stations. Don't suggest give it up or he'll change to that. 55

Thanks JG, I suspected as much.

btw it's not a station but it's a new, open Dec 06, club which plays reasonable music, has a live band (currently from BKK) and is not extortionately expensive (by KL standards). The down side is this nobhead who thinks he's the dog's undercarriage in the local music scene.

Actually, now that I think on it, the term was "get down", but they always add another word these days. Harlem or LA Watts black chat.

Next time, go up to him and say, "Yo Brother, you say get it down one mo time and I'll be giving you the bobo keys." (bobo keys means to go crazy and beat the crap outta someone.) :o

'Get it down' sounds like a variation of 'Give it up for....'

Like

'Give it up for Lent'

Yay.... go Lent, go.

Sorry, two days driving to and from Bangkok has affected my sensibilities :o

I'm sure Tutsi will appreciate this. Imitation being the sincerest form of flattery.

Funny, I've just been looking for Tutsi. He knows lots of "new vocabulary". You are right, FS, "da" is a Tutsi dialect.

Where is tutsi? Haven't seen him for a while. I know, off topic - errrm, how can I put it back on? What topic is this? Oh, slang & dialects. That's OK, with this thread talking about tutsi is definitely on topic! :o

Ahah! The missing link! "Give it up".

Now I get it, I gotta get it down so I can give it up and then get it back down again. :o

"Captain, our sensors detect signs of an intelligent life form on the planet's surface."

"Okay men, phasers on stun shoot to kill."

So, does that mean you're burning the broccoli or throwing the celery? Please translate, PH. Oh, we need Tutsi.

JG. Haven't decided yet whether I'm swingin' the swede or tossin' the turnip but I'm definately not playin' the parsnip.

Uh oh! 'T' storm approaching, save all files. :o

We definately need tutsi on this thread.
