How many months before expiry i can apply for an extension of the current driving licence in phuket?

in Bangkok i extend 2 months ago, last  year 2018 ,
my DL was about to finish on 9 dec 2018,
but i went there first week of october and extend it same day @ Bang chak

Fascinating but he asked about Phuket. 

 

To answer the Op if you can wait until just after the expiry date - you may find you get an extra year. IIRC they are not keen to renew in advance here IN Phuket but I eagerly await other answers from around the country.  ????

The general rule at DLT is 3 months before.

But as mentioned: why go early?

You can do it up to one year after expiry without extra effort/penalty.

Your better of getting it renewed the DAY AFTER your license expires,
you than get 6 years instead of 5

it should be the same all over the country BUT where are WE....we are in Thailand....nothing is simple for us....

DLT is not as chaotic as Immigration.

There are variations about what proof of residence is accepted and whether you need two originals or original plus copy is sufficient.

But for the rest the procedures are quite consistent.
