Ubon airport to Mukdahan

I'm doing the Savannakhet visa run soon and will fly to Ubon and then hop on a bus/minibus. Could someone please tell me if there's a service straight from the airport to Mukdahan or do I need to get a taxi to a/the bus station in Ubon and wait for the first available transport?

What airline/time are you flying?

AirAsia has a good fly/drive connections at 8:40h and 15:00h from Don Mueang.

NokAir not that good, some with long waiting times.

ThaiLion not offering fly/ride seemingly.

I'm not doing the Fly&Ride thing as I want to avoid Don Muang. I'm flying with Thai Smile from Swampy instead.

You will need to take a taxi from the airport to the bus station.

There are many vans and buses going from Ubon to Mukdahan on a regular basis.

Flight to and from Roi Et are Don Mueang only.
