And what about the private car? i assme you mean taxi. price depends on where in bangkok you are, and how good your thai skills are. pay no more than 1500 baht by taxi. there used to be taxi drivers lounging around at the enterance to sukhumvit soi 5 on the lh side before you get to foodland. unless you are rich do not get a hotel taxi

Is it difficult to get a cab in this area of Bangkok? no taxis all around on sukhumvit road. but you might have to try 2 or 3 taxis to take you to pattaya. and i say again do not get hotel taxi, it might be better getting one of the hotel staff to get a taxi for you. if not walk across suk soi 6 to soi 5 on the other side and do as i suggested above talking to the taxi people there

wpcoe
You can also call 1661 and reserve a taxi. There is a usually a B20 or B25 surcharge for that service, but I believe it's not charged when you reserve a flat-fare taxi (vs metered fare). The fare should be B1500, and you can confirm that while you are on the phone. You can call that 1661 number for a metered taxi to anywhere, if you don't want to stand on a street waiting and waving for a taxi.
