Wonder whether this ruling by the Parliament will hold up in Court in case someone in a similar situation refers to it.

I mentioned to my Suthep / Prayut / Bkk Shutdown supporting missis last night about when she used to hang off every word Suthep said about the "Rabob Thaksin" and how it was a system of crooks / mafia, nepotism, corruption, lies, incompetence etc etc.

I asked her how things have changed for her and if she feels "Happiness has been brought back to the people" and also if she feels that what she went out on to the streets to fight for was ultimately for the benefit of Thailand.

If looks could kill I'd be dead 20 times over!!! Anyway, enjoying morning coffee in smugness and peace. ????

You're a very game man, or not too bright with a death wish  - not sure which ????????

What about his fake degrees?

About that. Has his dissertation been published? I mean an American university; surely he'd want it out there to boast of his scholarly achievements?

I remember the newspaper stories of his release from jail and his repatriation to Thailand. He did not try to protest his innocence then. I remember his subsequent travails, his highly controversial reinstatement in the army and his promotion, all linked to important people. No protests of innocence again. What a hideous sham this all is.

I think we should crowd-fund a first-class airline ticket to Sydney for him, with a week's free accommodation in the presidential suite of the Hilton Hotel along with another innocent man, Mike Tejapaibul. If he's certain he can get through Aussie immigration, then we should encourage him to go. I'm sure he'd like to prove us wrong.

I'm not really sure why this is such a big deal. There was another senior politician maybe 20 years ago who was refused a visa for the US based on some shady past, possibly drugs. It all blew over in a week, as will this. TIT

His reinstatemt to the army is interesting, seems the promotion was on lieu of many brown envelopes.

An absolute cretin of the lower life form of pond scum. but it's OK, the little ex general will bend over in any direction to maintain his very tentative hold on power.

I think because of how big social media and worldwide news etc is nowadays this sort of thing can't be kept quiet from the Thai masses. It will be interesting to see if this does all blow away.

Are you referring to (the late) Narong Wongwan, who was about to be appointed a deputy prime minister until it was discovered that he was banned from the US? He protested his innocence as well.

I guess that even if this person stood aside (unlikely) you still have the other cronies in power, and not to mention a loaded senate which seems entrenched for life.

You cannot have a civil uprising unless there is a viable strong supported alternative to govern, or a vacuum is created and another despot rises to the top to take control.

The inequality in Thai society has fed this current situation,  the unfortunate thing is the current regime will not address inequality, as this will cause the average person to have some power over politics.
