Vietnam Airlines will commence direct flights between Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and Phuket on October 27.

Flights will operate three days a week, on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. The airline is also launching direct Ho Chi Minh City to Denpasar (Bali) service.

Vietjet Air, the popular new low-coast airline out of Vietnam, is currently servicing the increasingly popular route.

So the great  unwashed can now go direct to Vietnam when they are bored of Phuket.

A post in a language other than English has been removed.

Is this the airline who tries to land their planes with lowering the wheels......... ????

With the world economy sliding into recession and conflict in Iran/SA imminent expect to see significant reductions in global services if it hasn't started already.

The astonishing bubble in world aviation over the past 10 years is over.

Don't train to be a pilot. High demand for pilots is only matched by low demand at the end of the cycle.

I took Vietjet to HCM a couple years ago and the flight was cheap as chips.  Not sure if there is enough demand for two airlines flying this route, but it's good for consumers.

Without lowering the wheels, VN-A870, Melbourne, 19 Sep 2019.

Narrowly escaped a catastropic crash landing.

Just search the news (archives) for Vietnam Airlines to find more stunts (landing on runway under construction etc.).

Vietnamese are clever.

The tourists that turn up in LoS to find it is not as per the glossy brochure now have a "get out of Dodge" cheap route......

Expect the TAT tourist numbers to increase. Everyone flying to Phuket from outside Thailand, clearing immigration and checking in right away to Viet airlines is one.

At 13K baht compared to less than 5K baht R/T HKT to SGN on Vietjet, I can't see these planes being very full.
