The real change in direction could be if DT's poll numbers start to fall.  If he drops below 35% his fellow Republicans may see him as a re-election hazard and commence to back off from him.  And then the buzz of challenging him in the primaries, guaranteed to produce never-before-seen evidence of further monkey business.  And if he wins the primaries (and why not?  the FEC has been rendered virtually inoperable) the possibility he can be out of office by the convention or Nov. 2020 ....

Trump has been seeing coordinated attacks against him since 2016 from Obama, the Former Secretary of State, The former Vice President, The FBI, And 90% of the news media. So he calls the President of the Ukraine and says he wants to know what was really happening in that situation where Biden brags about blackmailing The Ukraine by withholding loan guarantees and getting some prosecutor fired.

It makes sense that Trump is doing this because Biden is trying to get back into the Oval office, and if he has been blackmailing and otherwise acting outside of his jurisdiction, the American people need to know. Not only that, the Democrats really deserve a little taste of their own medicine after wasting so much of America's time with the Mueller probe.

So maybe it is not nice of Trump to get a little help from the Ukraine, but certainly in his rights to do so. He is making sure Biden, who is just another Clinton type but with half the intellect, doesn't get back into power.

Good for Trump, He's doing his job. This is not even playing dirty, like Hilary and the deleted emails, and the fake information created for the Mueller probe. The Democrats have set the level of integrity they deserve.

Nope. It is not within the rights of a president to use his presidential power to dig up dirt on a political opponent from a foreign government. His office is one thing. His campaign is another. He was not acting in the interests of the American people or the relationship between the USA and Ukraine. He was acting in his own self interest. If he's not elected, he is subject to conviction and prison. I don't think we've ever had a U.S. president with that kind of existential motivation to be reelected. He's angry. He's cornered. He's dangerous. Make it stop.

1/ no president has ever been removed from office by impeachment

2/ an unsuccessful impeachment would only make Trump stronger

3/ just trying to impeach trump makes him more likely to be re elected

4/ if he were by some fluke removed by impeachment Pence would be president

5/ Trump would probably enjoy having them try to impeach him as it would give him untold ammunition to use against them in the election campaign- did he do anything worse than Clinton did by trying to smear Trump with the report from the British spy?

6/ Do the Dems believe that if they removed Trump by legal means rather by an election Trump's base will not take revenge?

 

Could Pelosi have realised that Biden probably has no chance of defeating Trump, so trying to get rid of Trump another way?

 

There is only a year left and the campaigns will start soon, so shouldn't the Dems be finding a proper candidate that can defeat Trump at the polls instead of this distraction?

Mueller was investigating wrong-doing.  Trump was pressing the Ukrainian President to come up with evidence to support an unsubstantiated conspiracy theory.

Well if it were substantiated it wouldn't be a theory. But yes if you got a guy bragging about blackmailing a foreign government. Then it is the right thing to do is to check it out. Best thing to do is get the country involved to cooperate right.

What is there to check out?  The US and a number of other countries didn't want to loan Ukraine money until it got rid of a suspiciously ineffective prosecutor, Biden told the Ukrainian President of the prosecutor didn't go the loans wouldn't happen, and the prosecutor was fired. 

 

Biden was tasked with carrying out US policy and bragged about how effective he was.  That is public record, not a sinister secret.
