LEICESTER have unveiled an amazing garden in memory of Khun Vichai on the site of his horror helicopter crash on the anniversary of the late owner's death.

Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha tragically lost his life alongside four others after his helicopter crashed outside the King Power Stadium in October last year.

Leicester had drawn 1-1 with West Ham moments before the accident - and now the club have found another way to pay their respects to a club hero.

After the tragic, fatal crash a year ago, fans flocked to the stadium to lay flowers and scarves to pay their respects.

Where did they ask people to send their donations? Are you saying that the football

club, or council (whoever organised the creation of the garden) asked the public to

pay for it? And how would one go about giving money to a hospital anyway? They have

set budgets and receive the money from central government funds. What would a

hospital do with the odd fiver here and there from a football fan?

Khun Vichai already gave 2 million to the Hospital just down the road and that was only one donation, Foxes foundation helped many more. He embodied the best of Thailand, kind, generous and humble. You have no idea how much he did for the City and how much he is loved there. Any flowers will be composted and used on the garden,

They could have had even more if the flowers  had been turned into donations instead and maybe the owner would have approved of  that more so than this.

The garden will be used by all for many different purposes. Some will choose to visit to remember. Some will visit to play. Some will visit to just sit and relax. What a wonderful contribution the man and those that continue his legacy make. Coincidently green spaces and hospitals both contribute to health and welfare.

May I recommend Guy Standing Plunder of the Commons: A Manifesto for sharing Public Wealth (2019) for anyone interested in how shared space can contribute to health and community

Khun Vichai made very very generous donations to Leicester Royal Infirmary. Perhaps you'd care to do similar?

Having a job understanding all the negativity of the above comments.

This was respect for a man who did great things for LCFC and the Leicester community only to meet his death in such shocking circumstances.

What could possible be wrong in this?

Some people are simply contrarians and enjoy quibbling anything and everything. If a negative extrapolation is all you arrive at from a human-interest piece that is supposed to be uplifting and ultimately positive then it says a lot about the poster.

Quite right. His legacy of donation and kind assistance to the community (quite apart from Leicester City's) is what counts here. Nothing wrong in honouring a good man who did so much for the place with a modest personal memorial, especially since he is so beloved of the city.
