20 Future Forward members send resignation letters to EC

Twenty former MP candidates of the Future Forward party sent resignation letters to the Office of the Election Commission on Monday.

 

Ex-candidate Nibhon Jamjumrus revealed that as many as 100 members have already resigned, as their attitude and political ideology are at odds with the party’s.

 

“We were among the founding members at a time when nobody had heard of Future Forward. So when our ideology changes, we need to step away,” Nibhon said.

 

He denied news reports that the candidates resigned because they did not receive any political positions. “Nobody negotiated for any position. However, we had to put it that way because we wanted to show our leader that keeping a promise is an important matter.”

 

Party leader Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit said the members can resign as they have a right to under the constitution. But as the party has about 60,000 members, it will not be affected, Thanathorn said, adding that he is confident the party will still move forward with ease.

So did all 60,000 members expect to get political positions that might be a bit much for the 2000 Baht membership Fee lol.
The new party had just 2 months to recruit 60,000 members that's quite an achievement and there were bound to be some bad apples.
100 from 60,000 that's not even news worthy maybe the press is trying to create a misunderstand?
Is it time to pay membership Fees?

 

So the Party will not hand out sinecures?

 

That is itself a significant, "revolutionary", act.

 

In the light of their recent, equally "unconventional", voting choice, they really do seem to be "walking the walk".

Theres a lot more information on this by the Thai press. It's a bit more involved than just this.

 

BUT it just goes to show how we (well me anyway) will never understand the Thai phyche when it comes to politics or business (maybe politics is business). Reading across the web it seems both sides of this are at serious ethical fault (by western ethical standards).
