Oh yes, Thai's are smart!

Just think:

- They managed to market their Beaches perfectly, as the rest of the country is rather bland (Djungle, rice paddies, swamps).

- A Farang can invest in almost everything, as long as it's in the name of a Thai-National (wifey). No Mafia-Boss could have dreamed up such a fantastic scam! Landed property remains in Thai hands. (As opposed to Europe where foreighners can buy up the half of London.)

- Permanent Residency/Citizenship is harder and harder to get for Farangs. ("Welcome Tourists, long-term Farangs we don't really have any use for them, them only "diluting" Thai-values").

- Having set-up a legal system that makes it hard for Farangs to win in a court of law. (Endless procedure and likely costing more in legal-fees than the amount in dispute).

 
- The Thai females have managed to uphold the Myth that they are more "warm hearted" and less cost-intensive than their Farang female counterparts.

 

So, who is to say that Thai's are not smart!

but YOU aren't smart, you only use what others have thought up, designed and made, we are idiot specialists who couldn't survive without the rest of society, the baker is an expert at bread making but couldn't farm the corn, couldn't make an oven, couldn't make the iron and steel necessary for his utensils to make bread. A geologist could probably find iron ore and could probably smelt it to make iron but he is no blacksmith and couldn't even make a hammer from it, nor could he make bread. If you talk about intelligence, the Thais must be near the bottom of the pile, look at the education system, the people who run the country, the policing system etc, etc.

There is only a difference in organization, not intelligence, it has been shown as fact that there is almost no genetical difference between a European physicist in London and a sub saharan farmer in Africa. There is surprisingly little genetic diversity among human beings throughout the whole world.

A Somchai could walk out into the fields and woods and find breakfast after half an hour while you would starve looking for a 7/11 or a Mac Donalds. When the first settlers went to America they were kept alive by the native Indians (big mistake) for the first few years, they couldn't understand how the white man could starve when there was plentiful food all around them.

Yes, I agree, you make a very sensible post. I believe there can be cases of better intelligence among the lowest paid and the politicians, and I think that would apply in any country.
