Why is the print format smaller?

Saving on ink.

You have control of that with your browser.  On Chrome just hold down Crtl key and use mouse scroll for easy way to make larger or smaller.

Also the same with Opera browser.

 

Or you can adjust it in the windows environment under display settings if you wish.

When printing a page it depends upon what your printer setting are. If you choose fit to page it will reduce the font size and etc so it does not carry over to other pages.
