Asean Summit

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha praised China’s contribution to regional stability and prosperity while meeting with Li Keqiang, his Chinese counterpart, at the Asean Summit in Bangkok on Sunday (November 3).

Government spokeswoman Narumon Pinyosinwat said the two premiers and other Asean leaders had a separate sit-down on the summit’s side lines.

Prayut said Asean’s relations with Beijing over the past 10 years had been among the most dynamic, she quoted him as saying.

Asean and China have committed to increasing trade and investment, targeting trade volume of US$150 billion next year.

He could say nothing less as the borrowed monies dictate

the level of respect given, I know plenty of bank managers who are called

descriptive names after the pressure mounts to repay those monies plus interest they have attached.

No mention of human rights abuse, no mention of restricting freedom, no mention of that disappearing of people trick, no mention of copy right theft, no mention of stealing classified information from the west to build their military machine and lastly no mention of when China will dispense with being an emerging economy.

Against who ?

Communist China ? :cheesy:

In French this is called "wishful thinking"or more familiar "always speak, you interested me" = I don't care ...

Prayuth does not know it yet but he is already colonized by communist China;
Thailand - as well as Laos and Cambodia - will be in the near future of new Chinese provinces .

Just when I thought a person could not get his head higher up China's rear-end, he proves me wrong. China single handedly is dividing the region with their sea grab and false wolf in sheep clothing loans.

Add Vietnam and Malaysia to the list, but face is the order of the day while they have to deal directly with each other!

From one dictatorial fascist to another.

Birds of a feather flock together!

You can see from this statement where PM General Prayut is pushing the future of Thailand.

From a democracy to a military controlled totalitarian society under the General's thumbs.

To hell with what the Thai people want.

Yes, their venture into the South China Sea's Spratly Islands have done nothing but bring harmony, peace, and confidence to the region.

S Korea? That's a new one. You're talking two different seas with Japan and the Philippines and Duterte has reached agreement with China to an extent.

I reckon he knows it quite well, as this is, or was, his plan.

Very Impressive and well done. Thailand thanks China … and vice versa.

Prime Minister Khun Prayut Chan O Cha hosted many high level dignitaries over the past few days in which bilateral trade, investment and infrastructure were discussed.

Good for the Prime Minister and Great for Thailand.

Prayut praises China

Pocket p!ssing or forelock tugging is an art form in Thailand and comes in different styles depending on the  occasion. On the local scene politicians normally do it for both mutual and self gratification and to invite reciprocation of similar goodwill from others.

There is a different variation used for diplomatic meetings when it is done more for the intent of exploring fresh avenues to grow personal wealth.

But with major countries like China it is done purposely to guarantee the continued flow of envelopes into the pockets of those politicians at the top who make the big decisions and whose credentials have already been tested and proven.

That is disgusting boot licking, indeed. Why doesn't Prayuth finally admit that Thailand (and much of the rest of SEA) has degenerated into little more than a client state of China?

We call "each other stabbing feathers in the ass"

It is a common phenomenon among the world's politicians.
