It would be more important for customers to see the face of the cheaters or at least the taxi number!
Every once in a while a good one comes up ... the honest average is too low on the thousands of taxi drivers in Bangkok?

Good to know that there are still good people in this world. And I think the driver deserved more than 15,000 THB tip even though that might be a lot for him already. The Aussie can be lucky to get his tabloid and smartphones back with data that is probably worth more than 120k for him.

Indeed. I wonder why he didnt carry the (rather snall sized and not heavy looking) bag himself, considering the value?

Two split system air con units a metre apart on the back wall????...........the FM91 public relations office must be a source of some very hot air.

Anyway, thank you Mr Senha for your exceptional display of honesty.   Many a taxi driver would have nicked the lot and then slept well that night.

Another honest Bangkok taxi driver ...…  Thailand has the most honest taxi drivers in the world. They are all honest, you leave anything in the cab... ipad, 200,000k, rolex, gold chain, wallet, land title deed, anything worth money … don't worry, don't even think about it  … it will all come to you by the radio station.

NO BIG NEWS STORY - In any normal country this is not a face saving exercise- just do the right them as a common staff mistake - no need for public relations media - BS

In over 20 years of visiting and living in Thailand, I have never been ripped off by a driver. I have encountered jerks, quoting ridiculous fares. But, I have never encountered a scam.

My wife once left behind a package she picked up from Thai Post. Later that evening, after he returned the taxi, the driver showed up on his motorcycle, package in hand. Our address was on the package.

Thai taxi drivers are brutally criticized, to the point that many tourists are afraid to even catch one from the airports. They really do need this "BS" to help counter the bad rep a bit.
