Where do you pay the highest rent for a workplace in Bangkok? At Gaysorn Tower on Ratchaprasong Road, according to a survey by Colliers International (Thailand).

Gaysorn Property Co Ltd leases premium office space there for Bt1,600 per square metre per month.

On offer for Bt1,500 a month are offices in the Park Ventures building, while Bhiraj Tower at EmQuartier charges Bt1,400.

Colliers stresses that these figures and those shown in the accompanying graphic are asking prices only and could be negotiated down on the basis of terms and needs.

Gaysorn Tower and Park Venture are in Lumpini district, Bhiraj Tower in Wattana, both prime Central Business Districts with state-of-the-art facilities.

And those rates aren’t static, either, rising 3-5 per cent from a year ago, but all three locations are 99 per cent full nevertheless.

Colliers predicts that office rental rates will continue to rise in the last quarter of 2019 due to high demand and limited supply.

That's very reasonable in comparison to big cities in the western world... and to some rents for housing in lousy places.
