Thai caption: Hunt for taxi thief

A man who stole a taxi in Bangkok while the driver was nipping out to get a coffee was finally arrested, 250 kilometers away from the scene of the crime.

A video posted by Sanook showed the arrest of "Non", 45, at KM marker 68 on Route 21 (Saraburi to Lomsak Road) in the Nong Phai district of Phetchabun.

Non had stolen the cab yesterday morning in the Prachacheun area of Bangkok.

The driver had left the engine running while he went to get a coffee at a convenience store.

Several police districts and the Highway Police amounting to 20 officers took part in the arrest.

Taken into evidence was a green and yellow Toyota cab, 4,160 baht, a Nokia phone, a watch and four amulets.

Sanook did not report if the meter was running.

The police seems to give work to many in Thailand. 20 agents chasing a taxi. You don't even see it in American movies.

The driver had left the engine running while he went to get a coffee at a convenience store.
