Howdy all,

 

Just wondering anyone's experience with MG vehicles... They obviously make them here and I see a lot around.. They have just started back home in Aus I noticed. They seem to be well priced and a good warranty (but never had to claim warranty here). Not sure they have been around long enough for any clear trends good or bad. 

 

Thoughts ? 

Unless it has changed, the warranty in LOS is 4 years, in the UK it is 7 years, which for me raises a question mark as to why...????

I would suggest they are assembled here with Chinese manufactured parts..

One thing is certain, the windshield is made in China. Hence, people have been waiting more than 3 months for a windshield replacement.

Like all Chinese goods they are going to be sub par compared to Japanese/European cars, but you get them cheaper. It irks me that they use the MG badge as though this gives their products verisimilitude.

Assembled here, this for sure. New plant built in 2016/2017.

As "CP" (richest family in Thailand, of Chinese origin) has it's stakes in this brand, will you be able to order them at 7/11

Their "SUV" currently on the roads is dirt ugly for me.

Makes you feel sick to see the "MG" badge having been sold off for that.

Yes.... Using am historic badge like MG is taking the <deleted>... Think best to avoid ????

MG had their chance in the market. P P decisions led to their demise.

China bought the badge - why can't they use it ?

They could have used the "Morris" name, but they used the performance "mark" of Morris Garages..I don't think any of their rides are performance oriented..

Not too many UK 'Performance' brands. Aston Martin, Lotus, Bentley ... few others. Dont know of any badged MG

My TR6 was billed as such - but not a chance until I stuffed a 327 in it

Was many moons ago. Blew the rear end to bits - wanted to keep the IRS as I had a coilover conversion done to replace those useless boxes full of oil and a swingarm that came stock.

But it did not like over 300 HP - that and I drove it like I stole it.

If I would have just kept it for road trips, and hammered the throttle when up to speed it may have survived.

Oh well - narrowed 10 bolt fit in.

So it doesn't 'irk' you that the original badge owners have already banked big time on that verisimilitude when they happily sold the whole enchilada to the Chinese? I mean it's not as if your going to confuse a MG ZS with a genyoowine MGB Roadster is it?

The <deleted> was already taken when struggling BL chose the MG badge for the Maestro... and ne'eer a Chinaman in sight either!
