Four monks from Cambodia have been arrested for illegal entry into Thailand, after police were tipped off by the locals in Krabi that they were involved in fund-raising activities in southern provinces, said Immigration Police chief Lt-General Sompong Chingduang November 21.

The four entered monkhood in Cambodia just a week ago, before coming to Thailand without legal documents, police said, adding that they were also seen raising money at protest venues.

They will be sent back to Cambodia, Sompong said.

U can imagine my disappointment, when I read the headline, rushed to read the story and found out that it's only about the border and immigration!

That's a very misleading headline! ????

They are monks! Here it´s not enough with 5 year ban. It´s lifetime ban, and defrocking in public that goes.

If they are truly Cambodian monks, then Thailand doesn't have the authority to de-frock them here in Thailand.

Old school nomads taking Thai job.

raising money, how many times have we seen dodgy monks raising money for who?

Maybe the Immigration officers were divine intervention?

Suppose it tells you that nobody overstays anymore.

I guess you Thai government haters can,t say they are only after whitey . Can You?
