Re-cycling Plastic & Glass in Ban Chang

Recommended Posts

Our maid asked the other day if she could have the plastic and glass from the rubbish bin as she wants to take it somewhere local in Ban Chang Where they buy it for 5 baht/kg.
Anyway, then went out an bought another rubbish bin and we now put all the plastic and glass in that and she takes it away when she is here twice a week. It’s pretty surprising just how much stuff there has been over the past week.
So now you know and should start doing the same thing, I don't think it will not be too difficult to find out where to take it. I regularly see the rubbish truck guys re-cycle stuff as they pick it up but this seems to be a better alternative and everyone (including the planet) wins.

In Ayutthaya we have guys coming round in pickups loaded to the hilt with plastic and glass, ( steel also, cans , steel tubing etc )we have saved it for them for around a year already.

Must be lucrative as have seen about 3 or 4 different “ crews “.

Everybody's been doing that for ages in Koh Chang, although i have noticed that some big resorts, who produce a lot of garbage, don't seem to care so much about recycling.
