PHUKET: Phuket Vice Governor Supoj Rotreuang Na Nongkhai today said officers must not lose hope in finding missing Polish tourist Mateusz Juszkiewicz, 26, and Thai national Werakan Sirirakon, 23, from Nakon Sawan, who were last seen kayaking with friends off Yanui Beach, off Phuket’s southwest coast, late Saturday afternoon (Dec 7).

“We must not lose hope. We are trying to find them to the best of our ability. It is a difficult operation due to the large search area, but we have mobilized all the available resources we have and I believe that the search will succeed soon,” Vice Governor Supoj said.

Today (Dec 9) concluded the third day of the search for the couple, without success.

Not even on a nautical chart and with the wrong tools. Did they even know about actual wind and current?

Well he is from Poland, not California or Australia.

Maybe it´s time to ask their friends what they really know about this "accident". I think that would be a logical next step.

It's clearly a nautical chart...  :jap:

And nothing wrong using a ruler.

Dividers are great but not easy to use on a vertical map.

Any recent updates on the missing kayakers?  Hoping they are safe and just overdue.

"must not lose hope"...…

I think "must not lose kayakers" would be a better way of putting it.

6 days on sea... on a double kayak... No way. :crying:

Last update talks about divers searching around Koh Mun

A strange story though.  Koh Mun is only 300 meters of their started beach.

And when you are a group of 4 kayaks, how can you let one of it far behind you ?!

Being in a group is part of safety rules; Never let one alone.
