Immigration chief Lt-Gen Sompong "Big Oud" Chingduang announced the arrest of three South Koreans wanted on Interpol red notices for running an online gambling operation.

The Thai authorities were acting on information received from the South Korean embassy in Thailand.

An informant contacted immigration who went to a restaurant in a shopping center in the Rama 3 area of Bangkok where Lee, 51, Choi, 52, and Noh, 51 were eating.

Lee and Noh had been living together at a condominium in the Rama 3 area.

The betting operation had the address "www.peakb-47.com" and ran from October last year to February this year.

All three suspects were frequent visitors to Thailand and were all staying in the kingdom legally. Their visas were due to expire at varying dates next year, reported Naew Na.

The media said that the business netted those involved $US 2 million.

Korea is hilarious.

Koreans aren't allowed to gamble but if you fly in to Incheon u can go to paradies city directly, a giant casino complex owned by Sega (the videogame manufacturer) full with chinese and all other asians ready to lose their money...

countries that let foreigners bet but not their own are hypocrites...

I bet if they dig a little deeper they would have a change of heart.

Gambling is at the very core of Chinese / Asian DNA. Yet, in mainland China they are not allowed to gamble. Like Thailand they have a lottery but that is it.

My own view on this is that the people in charge know how badly in debt locals would get if they were allowed free reign to gamble and also like men with tits nothing gets done, case in point ladyboys don't exaclty contribute to a nations GDP.

If a handful of Koreans can make that much money in 6 months shows the potential for others to take on such a "gamble". I guess since they stopped in February they must have just been chilling on the winnings since then?

Absolutely correct sir.

I have played poker often with Chinese guys and they are absolutely loony. They play the money and not the cards and go all in on a pair of threes when half the table is still betting. Ruins the game.

I wont join a table in a casino if there are Chinese on it. Croupier spends more time sharing the money out than dealing cards.
