Wife need to do this soon as part of a UK family visa application, I guess I can't book the VFS global appointment until I know more about how long this will take? Apparently it can take them 7 days to book your appointment but how long after the test will they issue the certificate?

When my wife did it a few years ago I am pretty sure she went back 3 days later for the results.  

You book the appointment online, no delay but depends when slots are available. They will tell you immediately after the test if all is OK and then mail the certificate to you. Pretty quick process.

My wife went to the IOM centre for her appointment, went straight to the Christian hospital 400 yards away and went back to the IOM to pick her certificate up. I booked a week or so in advance. All wrapped on the same day but you do need an early appointment.

Same happened with my wife; all completed including certificate issued in a day. Book online and pay the 3,000 or so baht when you attend the IOM Centre.
