How easy is it to change the name on the electricity bill on a PEA Supply. Currently my house is on my wife's relatives name and we want to change it to my wife's name and her Tabien Bahn.

1) Is the relative still in the housebook (although seemingly not living there)?

2) Is your wife shown as the "master" in the housebook?

If no and yes I would not expect any problem.

1 No she has her own house and house book.

2 She is the house master on a new Tabien Bahn

Thank you for the prompt response KhunBenq appreciated . Deleted your response was what I was expecting.  Now I'm puzzled????????????

Sorry but I deleted my content because I was unsure about your post.

If indeed your wife is master in the housebook then it's OK.

House ownership

Land document in my wife's name. Albeit not a Chanote. None of the houses and land on the PEA where we live is on a chanote. Boonies in the sticks.

There should not be a charge, however your wife will have to give the PEA the deposit for the meter.

You only need your wife's ID card and the house book.

Once your wife puts down the deposit the previous person can claim their deposit back from the PEA.

the only thing i might add is when I had it changed I had to show that the house had been sold

to me (my daughter, i had Power of Attny).    If one just goes to PEA to change name they might

have a problem regarding the status of the person whose name the electric is in.  Easiest way

is if relative goes to office with your wife and does the paperwork required .

About the same for us.

Our meter/bill was on the name of a guy who owned the land/previous house about 20 or more years ago.

After learning to read some Thai you can experience surprises

In the meantime the previous 5/15 meter of our house has been exchanged with the 15/45 meter from a second house (of daughter) close by. Without change of name/addresses
