Why the Thais might learn something from British wisdom regarding the roads!

Featured Replies

I am amazed at the date on this, considering in-car cameras were not adopted by the Police until 1981 ! some 18 yrs after this.

I am indebted to my brother who recommended the 30 second period after 1.10 in particular.

Obviously a Harvey Smith fan.

Ha, that is going back. A bygone era even before Bill Grundy met the Sex Pistols!

Some American, European and other British drivers may learn something from it also, even though that's the way every single Thaivisa poster claims to drive already!

9.15 yikes, nearly didn't stop.

Possibly because of the notoriously bad brakes Mk II Jags had then!

I thought it was pretty good in many ways and still largely relevant today. Especially the bit about giving idiots a wide berth. I have a favorite expression for people like tailgaters as I pull across to let them pass. "Two for you" (meaning fingers). My fingers, however, remain on the wheel as I know even a gesture can get you killed in Thailand or anywhere else.

So do I, I didn't say that it wasn't!

I was referring to the Ford Pop (I think it is) approaching the end of the side road on the left. Its approach was too fast + late braking.
