Aggression only breeds aggression. I do understand your distaste though and also got upset when I saw this uneducated bully picking on someone half his size, who in fact was not aggressive and trying to stay out of his way, as apologetic as he was over the "accident".

 

As much as I would love to floor him in front of the Thai's on that train, I dropped the ball that he threw at me, i.e. he owns it, the anger, not me, I will not lower myself to his uneducated aggressive nature and play his game, suffice to say, I will be dancing with joy when I hear the cops arrested him and sorted him, if not, I believe in Karma and he will meet her when she comes.

Yes, well worth posting this one TV, so that we ALL can take more notice of what is happening around us on the MRT. ...

 

It seems pretty likely it was an attempted Pick Pocket, and that the little guy probably was using his tablet as a Horizontal cover, to shield what his Hand was doing, when it was underneath it, probably looking for the Brits phone or money. ... and the Guy in Yellow was his handler. ... who was just trying to bail him out in the end.

 

I hope that the cops DID come, and well they have the probable Thieves on this video, and probably on CCTV in the stations also. 

 

A GOOD warning to us all for when in the streets now, and on the MRT.

A normal reaction would be to pointing the finger at the thief, and speaking "thief" loud enough for everybody to hear.

First impressions were that the British guys behaviour was very "believable".

By staying faced towards the small Asian man, the guy in the yellow shirt deflects attention away from the foreign guy and, by acting like the small Asian man might retaliate, creates visual confusion about who is in the wrong in the situation.

 

The small Asian man's face does have somewhat sharp and bony facial features which I might usually associate more with Chinese feature than Thai features. The small Asian man's haircut is the one that didn't look quite typically Thai. It seemed to me to have more of a Chinese style crop to it. The yellow shirt man's haircut with a buzz cut on the sides looks typically Thai to my eye. The small Asian man and the yellow shirt guy do appear to exchange words and to be able to understand one another.

 

Maybe it's just my imagination, but there does seem to be a choreographed element to how the small Asian guy is cowering, but allows his arm to continually be grasped by the guy in the yellow shirt. You're right that the guy in the yellow shirt, because of his size and the book he is holding, could be serving as a visual screen for a pickpocket as well.

 

I'm reminded a little bit of a three card monte scam I once witnessed in Times Square. A tourist got lured into making a bet big and after he lost his money and tried to get it back several of the men who had been pretending to be avid onlookers suddenly began aggressively intervening with the tourist, allowing time for the three card monte card shark to make a hasty get away.

looking at the video again,why is they another person or 2 protecting the pickpocket it seems.i could be wrong,why does he have a big handbag too.it seems the brit would not react unless something happened and someone was caught out.last year in London a couple of thais were robbed and filmed,eastern Europeans  were shown as the pickpockets,they soon disappeared after the video come out.so it happens everywhere and they are many involved.

My initial impression was that it must have been a pick-pocket attempt but as I've read on, I've become aware of the fact that the 'Brit' in question is a cockney....

It is never a good idea to engage in a fight with a Thai person. Never. Only under the most extreme circumstances, when your life is being threatened. You never win. If you kick their ass you lose, if they kick your ass you lose. Just refrain. I get infuriated from time to time. But, I have learned to not mouth off, and I attempt to show respect. I have had a few occasions where someone was very angry with me, and through a show of respect and humility, the guy calmed down.
