Meteorological Department warns Upper Northeast of tropical storm during April 4th -6th

The Meteorological Department issues the 7th announcement warning residents of the Upper Northeast of tropical storm during April 4th -6th.

The Meteorological Department says the strong cold air mass from China is now covering the Upper Northeast of Thailand. It is expected to reach the East and Middle regions including Bangkok tomorrow. Many areas of the upper part of the country have hot weather which causes tropical storm.

Tropical storm brings with it thunder shower, gusty wind, and hail. Hail is expected at many provinces in the Northeast, including Loei, Nong Khai, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, and Nakhon Phanom. The department suggests the residents to prepare themselves for possible damages of the tropical storm by making sure that their residences and constructions are strong enough to stand against the storm. They are warned not to wear electricity conducting accessories when they are outdoor. They should also turn off electronic appliances during thunder storm to prevent electricity short-circuit.

More rain is expected in the Southern region during April 4th – 6th. Waves in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are expected to be as high as 2-3 meters. People are suggested to be extra careful when sailing offshore during that period.

Thanks for that J.D.

There where loads of flashes last night in N.Khai but strangely enough non of the follow on rain storms.

My wife tells me it did rain in Udonthani but it didn,t last long.

If i may be permitted to highlight the warning on personal protection as i have in the past been effected by power damage to my home from unexpected leakages

I now switch off all power sources at the point of entry and have stand by lighting to check around the house intermittently during blackout periods. ( darkness )

For the unititiated of course if you will allow me............................
