I have lived here for many years and I have friends running hotels and restaurangs all over LOS. They are now very worried ...very worried !! They give me a different picture of the number of Tourists compared to what TAT are saying in the press / media. Also, they say that you can not compare western / european Tourists with Chinese / Indians because the pattern of spending is so ...so different . Restaurants, bars and discos are suffering, Chinese and Indians go in Groups and eat cheaply. Many factors over the years are now adding up. And the Corona Virus is the final Nail in the coffin for Thai Tourism. Sad to say. That must be about the one thousandth final nail in the tourist coffin and the damn thing will still not close.

Bangkokazy
High season in Thailand, is means flu season in countries them expect tourists from Thailand's traffic accident statistics showed no signs of improvement last year - in fact, it was much worse despite what is being said. The Daily News reported that the deaths at the scene in 2018 were 13,956. Last year 14 907 in the same time period. In 2017 (January 1-December 25), 13,426 had died at the scene. However, this only applies to the number of fatalities at the scene of the accident. The reality is that when deaths on the way to hospitals and hospitals are included, the numbers are much worse. Authorities last year admitted that the total was over 20,000, while Thai traffic safety attorneys say it is between 24,000 and 26,000 per year. year. The number of people killed by the new corona virus has risen to 563 in China, according to authorities. In addition, two have died outside mainland China. The coronavirus is no more dangerous than insulting a Thai… 1

Only for ur information: There is a website you can file TM30 online. I am doing it all the time. Some things are unfortunately not in English (Thais are sooo unbelievably clever to not translate some dropdown menus) but with a little help u can manage it (get the girl for long time and ask her to translate after she has done her job) take screenshots and the next time you know already how to do https://extranet.immigration.go.th You need to register with your condo address and building number first, then you log in every time you need a TM30 registration. The registration form is made by unprofessional idiots who just discover computer and internet, but if you invest some time , you learn how to use it. It works well and is the same website for all the provinces.

Viruses do not respect borders -- even supposedly closed ones. Japan, a country of absolute mysophobes is currently holding 2nd place... tranquilogringo
If the Thai people and economy are suffering because of the coronavirus, maybe immigration will let us start spending some of the 800,000 baht they make us lock-up unspendable for six months a year. 2

Thailand has never treated Westerners poorly. That is just so ridiculous. Frankly, I’m treated like royalty here. I realize that everyone’s situation is different but I’ve never once been treated poorly while living in Thailand. Tourism is exploding where I live in Phuket. I’ve never seen so many tourists. That said, we have only have white people and mostly families in this part of Phuket. I’ve never once seen a Chinese or Indian person here. 90% beautiful Russian women that look like super models ( and many actually are ). If tourism is so terrible, why is it impossible to get a reservation for Valentines Day at any of the top restaurants in Bangkok and Phuket? Even the Waldorf Astoria has a 400 person waitlist. Yeah, business is so slow! Edited February 6, 2020 by Rocket Hawks 1
