Anutin hits back at critics on video call

Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul discussed control measures of the coronavirus infection with health officials in Sweden via a video call today (February 19) as international academics expressed a lack of confidence in Thailand's handling of the virus outbreak. 

 

They said the figure of infection reported in Thailand was quite low, given the large number of Chinese tourists.

 

Anutin said the Thai government never hid the truth as it might lead to a harder process and the country’s measures were effective.

 

“People who said such things don’t live in Thailand and they don’t know how we work,” he said, adding:"The number of patients doesn’t reflect the efficiency of the Thai medical system but the number of infected patients who were cured and containment of the virus do”.

I think he must have got his words muddled up. Try replacing the word "hid" with "told" and the sentence has a more honest ring to it.

Another pop at foreigners? It's best people don't know how you work. They'd be horrified. 

An angry denial of the truth speaks volumes...  I think Sweden are correct in there assumptions the figures don't add up in Thailand ????

Nice to see he was so busy handling the crisis, he couldn't be arsed to attend in person. Not only a bigoted liar but a coward too then.
