Sick trolls have attacked Welsh singer-songwriter Duffy after she bravely revealed online how she was 'raped and held captive'.

 

Duffy, 35, whose full name is Aimee Ann Duffy, released an emotional Instagram post yesterday to tell her fans why she stepped back from making music as she asked for support from fans.

 

Nearly all Instagram users reacted kindly to the star, but some trolls on Twitter cruelly asked why she had not reported the incident to police sooner and made twisted jokes about whether she had an album to promote.

 

One shocking post read: 'So why not come forward sooner? Rape is wrong but don't spout bull about how she's been brave after however long it's taken.

A pretty nasty attempt at lame humor has been removed.

I hope that this isnt an attempt to promote her new album . her first album in ten years since her last one flopped .

  Whilst I would have preferred that it didnt happen, I also hope that She isnt making it up for publicity .

Wouldn't be the first time someone falsely reported a crime to garner publicity.

Coincides with the release of a new album. Better to have made these revelations much earlier in my opinion. It is understandable that many people will question her story and her motives.

I would rather be question your and other like minded people’s motives  

While if this did happen(remember its never been reported to the police) its awful but it seems such a shame that if it did happen she twitters it as her new album is being released , Especially as its splashed all over the newspapers,

i guess i'm cynical.
