Actually under sections 16 and 14 of the Compute Act which was revised in December 2016 to protect the dignity and reputation of “damaged parties” pornography or other material is considered illegal and could be ordered to be destroyed by a court. And that's for just possessing porn - these peeps reportedly were making and possessing.

What's also intriguing is that up to around maybe 2 years ago websites like pornhub were duly blocked with the ministry's explanation as to why.

So able bodied porn connoisseurs (like the French) used VPNs to get around it.

Nowadays that block has been lifted so its easily accessible for all.
