Popular Post webfact Posted March 9, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 9, 2020 Pattaya: Cops involved in abduction and extortion of couple "will not be protected, face full consequences" The RTP's national spokesman said that police chief General Chakthip Chaijinda stressed that police in Pattaya involved in an extortion case must face what is coming to them. General Chakthip said that six men will not be protected and will face "worse than normal" punishment. Five policemen have been arrested in connected with an abduction and extortion case in February. One is a police captain at Pattaya police station who is a deputy investigator. The others are volunteers without official rank known as "tamruat baan". Last month a 22 year old man who was with his 20 year old girlfriend said he was shaken down by a group of police outside a convenience store on Chaiyapreuk Road, Moo 12, Bang Lamung. It happened on February 26th. He said he was taken to a safe house and money was demanded for his release after a search was made of his car. Five of the men were arrested on a warrant mentioning conspiracy, extortion, threats and abduction. One remains at large. The police captain is Pol Col Wuthikorn. All the men have been removed from their duties by Chonburi provincial chief Pol Maj-Gen Prakarn Pratong and face both disciplinary and criminal prosecution. RTP chief Gen Chakthip called for a full and transparent investigation. He promised no protection for the men who have sullied the name of the force and said that worse than normal punishment awaits them, according to the spokesman speaking at RTP HQ on Sunday. THAT is true. i heard an expert saying that if corona virus will cause serious shortages in cash, food and other supplies, police and security forces will start robbing people in the street, even from their food (globaly).

It's everyone's right not to be identified at this stage; remember, they've not been found guilty of anything, yet. Anyway, whose faces were blurred? You can't see them so they may not be the accused, victims have the right to anonymity also.
