Russian man in Phuket did not die from COVID-19, report officials

PHUKET:-- A Russian man who died while under close care of doctors at Vachira Phuket Hospital for 14 days did not die from COVID-19, Hospital Director Dr Chalermpong Sukontapol told the press today (Mar 9).

BANGKOK (Reuters) - The number of tourist arrivals in Thailand fell 44.3% in February from a year earlier due to the coronavirus epidemic, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) said on Monday.

18 of 80 missing illegal labourers from S Korea have been found

Public Health Deputy Minister Satit Pitutecha reported that 18 of around 80 illegal Thai labourers who returned from South Korea and evaded a 14-day state quarantine have been rounded up, with 62 still missing.

COVID-19 drags February 2020 TCC Confidence Index to 27-month low

BANGKOK(NNT) - The COVID-19 epidemic and the drought have been major economic drawbacks, causing a slowdown in the Thai economy. The University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce’s (UTCC) Center for Economic and Business Forecasting’s (CEBF) latest TCC Confidence Index for February 2020 has fallen to 44.9, from 45.4 in January, the lowest figure in 27 months.
