I never expected anything from them! - not disappointed ???? 

Quite why anyone would expect them to do anything is beyond me, guess it gives folks a chance for yet another "vent & rant"

The first half dozen or so posters were expecting to see HMA in full hazmat rig & a traffic warden's hat directing anyone clutching their passports and yelling "I'm Brian and so is my wife" to HMS Bulwark and/or the RAF who were supposed to be 'in shot' behind him.

 

Had he done so they'd still find something to whinge about

Quite right. Their job has nothing to do with citizens in a foreign country. That job would be the Consul.

Ambassador's job is trade and relations but some countries have a special person for trade.
