Perhaps for the Chinese there will be a group tour insurance policy with the insurance logo on the leaders flagpole.

The new face of Chinese tourism in Thailand!   :cheesy::biggrin:

Chinese ready to travel ?  Total BS ......  What credible info do you base that statement on ?

Now many cases in China are 'imports' ...  Still very much restricted / controlled movement in China .. True .. not as 'hard as it was' .. but still very much controlled to prevent a flair up ...

Look at the headline tag of "Chinese Tourists ready to Breakout", courtesy of the paper that can not be named....thats the credible info, so read a little and update yourself instead of telling us you believe its BS......

Thai news and propaganda....  you have not been paying attention to some of it in the last day or so.  Pretty sure he was being sarcastic.

Not sarcastic.....Its a OP Headline "Chinese Tourists ready to Breakout" in your local edition of the paper that can not be named...

To where? Not easy to find open arms in another country. IMHO.

As of this moment:

Business as usual in the UK.

Government policy was announced to be keeping airports open (under guidance from WHO).

I have not seen any indication that anything more than usual entry requirements apply.

Government concern seems to be that airlines and other countries will choose to stop services.

FCO Travel advice announced BA to stop flying on 29th.

Thai Airways have cut a lot of flights (via mainland Europe) to UK from 7th April, but non-stop not among them.

It's times like this that make you think...

What Thailand really needs to effectively combat the coronavirus is a military style dictatorship where the Army and Co. run everything, can control everything, can use their authority to issue orders at will unhindered by any facade of democracy, where the citizenry are cowed into subservience, where all forms of dissent are crushed...

Know any place like that?   :cheesy:

they'd also need an actual army not 10000 OAP generals and a bunch of red-balled school kids playing soldiers

Is time to throw all the mists about Corona over board, and open the eyes for the real thing. Forget about the hot climate will prevent (your body temperature which is essentially for the virus remains 37 Celsius in hot or cold weather), mask will prevent (they are only really helpful if you are infected not to spray the virus), there are medication's available (those are only tested and might help or might not).

Best is to isolate yourself as much as possible, personal hygiene (specially wash your hands), sanitize and clean surfaces; and for the party-goers: Alcohol is NOT killing the virus in your body...

looking at the map it looks like to me its being taken back to issan. cases all over that region. rayong too.

probably going to be impossible to lock bangkok down even if they wanted to. not that i think it would be effective, the horse has bolted.

Guess you were not here when Marshall was declared.  Loaches down it was.

you are absolutely right. the only way to localise the problem is to have a complete shut down.

IT'S ALREADY OUT

Thailand never even thought about fixing the worn out, bald tyre, with the reinforcement showing through.......UNTIL IT BURST.

thought the virus didn't like the hot weather, it must have adjusted/assimilated to the heat fast, Prayut better close the country down or lock it down ow whatever he wants to call it .....but it has to be done fast, no more wasting time

I dont get it. Thailand was the first country in the world to have a case outside China. 'On January 13, the WHO reported a case in Thailand, the first outside of China, in a woman who had arrived from Wuhan'......so you are telling me there has been a spike starting now? Its obviously been out there months and months. Is the warmer weather slowing its spread? New research seems to point to this.

Nonsense, I am in Perth at the moment and the temperature is 33  degrees

and we had 26 new cases in one day the whole of Australia is in lock down

and we still have about 1200 cases

Marshall law only basically had a curfew .... not a lock down.

and from another post......Public urged to trust “Team Thailand” to lead the fight against COVID-19

Team Thailand?, the owner is AWOL all the time and the captain an incompetent, his players include a health minister with zero knowledge and qualifications of health and another who had a long prison sentence for heroin smuggling, most of the others would not get into any team without knowing somebody or paying to get their positions. I'd have more trust in Corby Town winning the FA cup than this bunch of corrupt imbeciles. Thai govt 0 Wuhan virus 600

Stop panicking you lot , even more so the ones who are not even in Thailand.

Australia has less than half thai population and just as many if not more cases.

yes it’s spreading as expected and people are recovering

I know some Italians who would disagree with you.

This is about to get catastrophic

600 seems very little when compared to the number that may come out of Indonesia.

In Indonesia, due to the mosque gathering it's estimated that the number will be huge when more people are tested.

And you think they have been testing here in Thailand appropriately........

Huge amount of daily jumps now. Similar to how it started in Europe a few weeks ago. Got a feeling they need to impose a proper lockdown (this government have done it before) to avoid Thailand becoming like Italy or Spain very soon.

Should have happened weeks ago ... The figures are as bad as CNN and their usual fake news ... Chinese New Year ... No border closure... 2000 workers return from SKorea and disappear ... everyone walking about like susie in the springtime ... Expats laughing it won’t happen to them .... Catch a grip ... It’s here and in bigger numbers than is being reported ...

PEOPLE :  how long was the backlog for tests ?

I think they finally are doing their job, but they are FREAKING out people...

for weeks, the number stayed the same ... everybody or most here on TV did think the same : they just stopped testing for  $$$$  tourist money

They might just re-start slowly, the job they were supposed to do

now they can blame dirty FARANG to cause this, while it was here brought by the CHINESE for weeks & months with no limits
