How do you see the world post coronavirus crisis?

Here is my projection.

Assuming that the ongoing epidemic recedes, say, by the month of May or June, the world will not be out of the woods, not by a very long shot.

The economy will lay on its back, deflated and depressed, hence the word depression.

The economy will not be able to move because of the giant mountain of debt sitting on its chest.

These hundreds of billions branded here and there to "save" the economy will have to be paid after all, on top of those that were already there before the actual crisis.

The economy will not have the willpower to move.

After months in lockdown, people will not be free, they will be on parole, waiting for the virus to come back during the next cool season.

In such a state of mind, they will not rush to buy cars on credit, or to travel to the Seychelles.

They will rather try to become ants and to shed their former grasshoppers' shells.

Somehow the world economy will turn Japanese, post 1990.

Meanwhile, impatient heads of state (there are quite a few of those) will start the blame game, trying to reject responsibility on others, and to distract their agitated populations.

Geopolitical tensions will rise, probably to the point of rupture.

From then on... no need to say more...

Your thoughts are welcome.

The end of the world as we know it?

When I read this headline I though you were referring to the important things in life. Soi Cowboy closed, Nana closed. And not just for a day, for weeks! That definitely feels like the end of the world.

At 65, I'm happy with another week.

Stopped thinking about the future after nearly all of my pals died before reaching 60 years old.

Then the big question is obviously: What will you do in that last week of your life?

I believe Post Corona will have minimal impact anywhere, the major impact will come financially from the Oil price war that is currently raging....much longer effects to the world economy!!

Well, for the next 5-10 minutes I'll be drinking a cup of tea.

After that I'll probably water my plants.

No need to think any further ...........

OP I believe that your analysis is correct. Some economies will not survive. The global economy will be wrecked and some kind of reset is inevitable to keep the show on the road. I don't know what form of reset that will be but I'm certain that personal freedoms are going to suffer as a result.

I do NOT expect to see governments, supported by the MSM, forcefully encouraging their citizens to boost their immune systems through diet, exercise, lifestyle changes and vitamin supplementation. I DO expect to see governments, supported (paid by) by Big Pharma forcing mandatory vaccination against coronaviruses.

Somehow out of this mess the global financial movers will take further giant strides towards forcing us into a cashless society. Developing countries like Thailand will try to hold out from that one as long as possible, but it is coming and this crisis will hasten its arrival.

So much more, but that's my two penneth for now.
