Lamphun province has reported its first two Covid-19 cases. Provincial Governor Pongrat Piromrat on Sunday (March 29) issued a statement regarding the situation in Lamphun.

The first case is a 39-year-old man who had returned from abroad on March 19 and begun home quarantine from March 20 until today when he was found to be infected and transferred to a local hospital. However, he has not been in close contact with many people. Those he was close to are under investigation.

The second case is a 30-year-old man who visited entertainment venues. He was on home-quarantine since March 17 before testing positive, although he does not have much fever or severe symptoms. Those who were in close contact with him are now being tested for infection.
